Hon James Adisa Owolabi Member Representing Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency on Tuesday 21st July 2020, moved a motion to bring succor to the plight of Commuters plying some parts of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway especially between Abule-Egbe and Sango Toll-gate.
The Honourable Member while addressing the House of Representatives Emphasized on the Economic importance and the Risk the bad road poses to the lives and properties of hundreds of Commuters plying the road on a daily basis.
In his request he urged the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to urgently repair the road, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing to include the Construction of the road in the 2021 budget proposal and appealed to the house Committee on Works to ensure prompt approval.
During his Media Chat after the Plenary session, Hon Owolabi reiterated on how long he has submitted the Motion Proposal to the House of Representatives. He further explained that the Delay was as a result of the Covid-19 safety guideline restricting the house to one Plenary session per week.
" Personally I have Contacted all the Agencies involved to come to the Aid of the Commuters plying the road to reduce the hardship posed by the road on a daily basis" Hon Owolabi Concluded.
